What We Do

The C.O.R.E. is an in-school leadership program working with middle and high school students. We develop young Changemakers and empower them to lead their lives and community.

What We Teach

Our curriculum is built on three-pillars:

wisdom-based leadership, asset-based community development, and what we like to call survival skills.

How To Get Started

Let's start with a conversation. If you reach out to us, we would be happy to explain what we do, how we do it. and find out if our program would be a good fit for your school.

The Purpose

Developing capable and grounded leaders in our schools.

Ultimately, our goal is to fill schools (the core of America’s communities) with wisdom-led and community-minded Changemakers engaging in a bottom-up approach to social change.

The Focus

1

Leadership Development

Our program connects the wisdom found through proper character development with the tools necessary for sustainable social change. The end result are students that understand the significance of their influence, and how to eagerly and responsibly handle it.

2

Community Development

Asset-based community development is our preferred social change methodology, teaching students to change their communities through assets in their communities.

Students practice:

  • Asset mapping

  • Community engagement

  • Secondhand community research

  • Taking capacity inventory

  • Project management

3

Survival
Skills

We take time to teach students basic life skills that they would benefit from no matter their career or passion.

Examples include

  • Budgeting/financial management

  • Basic home repair

  • Basic car repair

  • First aid/CPR.
